Reports to: Farm Shop Manager

Retail assistants play a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service and smooth store operations, handling tasks from cleaning, sales support to inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries
  • Provide excellent customer service; comfortable in engaging with customers
  • Provide product information and recommendations
  • Operate the cash register and handle payments accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked shelves
  • Maintain a clean, presentable shop, including entrance, floors and till areas
  • Receive, unpack, and display merchandise
  • Assist with stock control and inventory checks, highlighting shortages
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
  • Follow store policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines
  • Support promotions and sales initiatives

Skills and Qualifications

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • To be comfortable to approach Senior members if you have any concerns

Additional Duties

  • Must be flexible to work weekends and across various sites within Cheshire
  • Clocking in and out on time
