We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Bakery Assistant to join our close‑knit team, helping us create delicious breads, pastries, and sweet treats that bring smiles to our customers every day. As a Bakery Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, welcoming experience
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and allergens
- Resolve customer concerns politely and professionally
- Food & Beverage Service
- Assist the Baker in mixing and baking ingredients according to recipes
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Manage baking times to produce baked goods at a consistent quality
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area and equipment
- Organise and maintain stock levels
- Monitor inventory levels - supplies and ingredients, notifying the Baker when supplies are low
- Help decorating cakes, breads, and pastries
- Package baked goods for sale
- Restock displays, fridges, and service areas as needed
- Baking of morning goods – e.g. bread, pastries
- Monitoring baked goods throughout the day
- Making daily desserts for chiller
- Cleanliness & Organisation
- Maintain cleanliness of Bakery, including counters, equipment, and areas
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times, including wearing aprons, hair tied back, hand washing, no eating (hand to mouth)
- Assist with all opening and closing duties, including Logit records
- Maintain and rotate stock levels – replenish as needed
- Team Support
- Work collaboratively with other members of staff
- Follow instructions from supervisors and managers
- Support smooth daily operations during busy periods
