As the finance analyst, you will be in a key position to ensure a key product category is supported during a period of planned, targeted growth. Working with a highly-visible, market-leading product in a key product category, we are targeting significant volume growth. This position will also work across additional brands with select retailers and support the growth of own label production.

You’ll act as a business partner for a range of key stakeholders, including those within demand (sales and marketing), and R&D. We’ll also encourage site visits so you can develop a greater understanding of the processes and passion that goes behind the production of our products. We’ll also look to you to challenge figures and projections, and ensure opportunities and risks are clearly communicated.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

  • Understanding and communicating drivers of volume, sales, and margin variances on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis – providing value-added insights
  • Ensuring promotional activities and price changes are approved in a timely manner, eliminating pricing errors
  • Ensuring all promotional activity is justified (financially, commercially, strategically) and is aligned with brand strategies
  • Offering decision-making support to business partners across the business – identifying, quantifying, and communicating opportunities to maximise and risks to mitigate
  • Ensuring annual customer agreements and joint business plans are accurately quantified and financial impact is clearly communicated
  • Recommending and challenging changes to terms offered to customers, encouraging growth and increased profitability in the account
  • Challenging forecast assumptions to ensure they are robust, hold business partners accountable, and ensure forecasts are up-to-date and reflect the most likely outcome
  • Championing financial controls and procedures to ensure all key issues are identified, communicated, and captured in the appropriate systems (including reconciliation of balance sheets, month end activities, and promotional sign-off)
  • Contributing to the team focus on continuous improvement through sharing ideas and taking ownership of project delivery

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

  • A CIMA/ACCA part-qualified finance analyst with strong commercial experience within a production/manufacturing organisation (AAT qualified will also be considered)
  • A good communicator, with experience building and developing relationships and can communicate with non-financial stakeholders
  • Experienced and able to embrace change
  • Able to demonstrate the use of problem-solving and decision-making skills through critical thinking
