We are recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to join our R&D finance team based at Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford, supporting the development of financial management processes, systems and resource deployment for our directorate income and expenditure.

As an ACCA/CIMA qualified or part‑qualified finance manager, you will work closely with the R&D Finance Business Partner and the R&D Senior Accountant to oversee budget control, reporting and forecast analysis for income streams across the directorate. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, Oxford University, National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), other research bodies and commercial research partners to ensure successful financial management of the R&D function.

Main Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the reporting of the directorate I&E position against plan monthly, ensuring that all relevant and required accounting entries have been made in the Trust’s electronic finance system.
  • Account for all R&D income streams.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Directorate and Finance Business Partner.
  • Provide appropriate financial advice and information to the Trust’s budget managers to achieve financial targets and contribute to the recovery of overheads, enabling the Trust to meet its overall corporate key financial targets.
Person Specification – Qualifications
  • Qualified or part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Experience in R&D Finance.
  • Experience in NHS Finance.
Essential Criteria
  • Analysing large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel user.
Desirable Criteria
  • Finance or Accountancy degree qualification or equivalent experience.
  • eFinancial system user.
