Join our dynamic team as a Finance Manager at Central Manchester University Hospital, overseeing the financial operations of a high profile Hard FM PFI contract. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead financial management, drive business insights, and support strategic decision making for a lucrative contract generating over £12m annually. You’ll work closely with operational teams and clients, providing expert financial advice, negotiating contract variations, and contributing to the ongoing success of a key healthcare facility.
What You'll Do:
- Support operational managers and senior site management in all significant decision making processes
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, providing challenge and support to senior management
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, including monthly accounts, WIP, variations, and major project activity
- Maintain robust financial controls across procurement, stock management, and cost control to optimise financial performance
- Provide financial analysis and advice to operational teams to drive performance improvements and informed decision making
- Deliver regular management reporting and support client meetings related to financial performance and account reviews
- Promote continuous process improvements to streamline administration, enhance decision support, and maximise operational efficiency
What You Bring:
- Graduate calibre
- Experience of providing financial support to complex service contracts
- Strong communicator with the confidence to challenge, influence and support at all levels
- Ability to work under pressure and ensure that deadlines are met
- Excellent commercial acumen with strong technical skills to deliver relevant, accurate analysis to facilitate decision making
- The ability to combine strategic and analytical perspectives with a pragmatic approach
- The ability to keep focus on day to day performance whilst simultaneously pursuing longer term opportunities
- Experience of financial modelling
- Qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) accountant
- Knowledge of healthcare business and agenda for change
- Knowledge of systems including EProphit, SAP
