Would you like to work for a charity that supports and strengthens the NHS? Do you enjoy working in a highly visible, relationship-focused finance role where your insight genuinely shapes decisions? We are looking for two Finance Business Partners to join our Finance team at The NHS Alliance.

About the role

As a Finance Business Partner you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance to ensure finance is at the heart of decision‑making across the organisation. There are two Finance Business Partners in the organisation, each responsible for a portfolio of business units. You will:

  • Act as the main finance contact for a portfolio of business units, supporting Budget Holders.
  • Provide financial insight, reporting and variance analysis, including monthly outputs.
  • Lead budget setting, forecasting and in‑year monitoring to drive value for money.
  • Manage month‑end processes and oversee pay forecasting, payroll checks and workforce modelling.
  • Support income management, build financial capability across teams, and improve reporting and processes.

This is a hands‑on, outward‑facing role. You will build strong partnerships with Budget Holders, provide clear financial insight and challenge, and support colleagues to understand and use financial information effectively to deliver the organisation’s objectives.

About you

You will have at least 3 years in a similar finance or business partnering role in a complex organisation, as well as being an excellent communicator with the confidence to explain finance clearly and challenge where needed. You will also have:

  • Demonstrable experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis across multiple income streams.
  • A proactive, organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and lookups) and experience of finance systems and reporting tools.
  • A commercial, analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insight.
