Are you highly organised, people-focused and motivated by supporting strong school governance? We are seeking a Clerking Coordinator to join our Governance Services team, providing professional and high-quality support to the leadership of our clerking service and the schools, academies and governance professional clerks (GPCs) we work with. Reporting to the Clerking Officer, this role plays a central part in the coordination and smooth operation of the clerking service.

You will act as a key point of contact for GPCs and customers, manage enquiries, support the allocation of clerking cover, assist with training and briefings, and contribute to the effective administration of contracts, payments and service delivery. The role is varied and often busy, requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience of school governance or clerking is highly desirable, and candidates with a background in education, governing boards or academy trusts are particularly encouraged to apply. However, we also welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate strong administrative capability, professionalism and a willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, including governance procedures and clerking practice.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive and collaborative team that values flexibility, shared problem-solving and high standards of customer care. Hours are generally worked during school hours, with some flexibility available to support work‑life balance, while meeting the needs of the service.

If you are looking for a rewarding role supporting effective governance and a committed GPC workforce, we would be delighted to hear from you.
