Purpose and objectives of the role: To carry out the repair, maintenance or installation of all plant, equipment, and systems associated with the premises, in line with best practice, statutory compliance and service level agreements as detailed in the Client's Contractual agreement. The post holder is required to have significant core experience and qualifications working on various types of Electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems etc. The post holder will be required to undertake the role within a rotating on call system 1 in 14 weeks.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Establishing and developing a working partnership with the Customer.
  • Managing the successful delivery of all services within the scope of the specification.
  • Compliance with all statutory, Employer's and site specific Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Meeting or exceeding all agreed service levels.
  • Ensuring attainment of customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and retaining an in depth knowledge of all critical electrical systems, and associated controls systems critical to the Critical Business Operations.
  • To work with contract operational and administrative staff to ensure Hard Service tasks are completed and reported effectively.
  • Communicate with colleagues, clients and their representatives in a polite and courteous manner at all times to ensure a high level of customer care.
  • To undertake the day to day operation, planned maintenance, fault finding and repair, periodic inspections and testing of the complete spectrum of services found in a building services environment to include - HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Water Systems and Distribution, Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • To ensure that planned preventative maintenance and associated work is implemented efficiently to specified requirements and provide assistance with improving these requirements on a continuous basis.
  • To clearly identify and record concise details of test results and actions taken when rectifying break-downs and further action required to eliminate or minimise future problems.
  • Ensuring that these records are kept up to date at all times.
  • The above is not intended as an exhaustive list, but as an illustration to the diversity of plant and equipment to be maintained. The post holder will only work on equipment which they are deemed competent on.
  • Understanding the integrated operations of each system and their critical interfaces.
  • Making operational systems judgements and decisions based on good engineering practice and essential service requirements, in order to ensure continuity of service.
  • Liaising with the site based maintenance staff, sub-contractors and other site based operational departments to ensure good communications.
  • Ensuring all site safety inductions are completed by sub-contractors prior to starting planned tasks.
  • Being aware of all sub-contract maintenance activities, and monitoring safety procedures are being followed whilst on site.
  • Fulfilling the roles of authorised persons for boilers, pressure vessels, confined spaces and fuels, oils and lubricants.
  • To ensure all relevant Health and Safety, COSHH and Permit to Work Regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • To participate in an on-call rota (which includes weekends).
  • To maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge, and keep up an awareness of service issues.
  • To provide support to the incident management group when called upon and make recommendations for improving the services and the way the building is managed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years working with Commercial electrical systems.
  • Good organisational skills.

  • Complete required reports on the company's CAFM system.
  • City & Guilds 2330 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology at Level 2 & Level 3.
  • City & Guilds 236 Parts 2.
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 2.
  • City & Guilds 2351 (All eight units).
  • City and Guilds 2365-03 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) 600/5499/2.
  • City and Guilds 8202-30 Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation (Tecbac) (601/7307/5).
  • EAL Diploma in Electrotechnical Services Level 3 (All ten units) (500/3526/5).
  • EAL Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation (QCF) (600/9331/6).
  • EAL Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation (601/4563/8).
  • In addition, the candidate should possess the current 18th edition certification, formally known as the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018.
  • Furthermore, having achieved the NET AM2 Certificate in conjunction with any of the aforementioned qualifications would further enhance your credentials.
