What we’re looking for:
As the Claims Lead, you’ll be leading a high-performing claims team ensuring all claims are handled effectively and in accordance with service standards, Delegated Authority, and FCA requirements. A strong understanding of insurance products, particularly Property and General Commercial, FCA regulations and Lloyd’s markets is essential.
You’ll focus on optimising processes and delivering continuous improvements to meet all quality and performance targets. Great organisational skills and the ability to resolve problems and provide solutions are a must.
Some of the things you’ll get up to:
- Daily line management of the Claims Team
- Setting and monitoring work allocations, maintaining adequate staff cover
- Compiling and delivering monthly reporting
- Training, guiding and supporting the claims account handlers in their development and ensuring quality
- Monitoring the progress of a claim, keeping customers and other relevant parties informed
- Negotiating, settling and/or repudiating claims within delegated limits of authority
- Supporting key clients in handling high value or contentious claims
- Liaising directly with Insurers and Loss Adjustors on complex claims and complaints
- Liaising with Sales Managers on wording/policy issues
- Delivering claims training to colleagues and acting as a mentor for new joiners
- Conducting monthly internal telephone and file audits to ensure quality control
- Working with the Insurance Operations Lead on preparing and conducting external audits
We’d like you to have:
- Proven claims or case handling experience
- Strong understanding of insurance products, particularly Property and General Commercial, FCA regulations and Lloyd’s markets
- Excellent inter-personal and telephone skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to resolve problems and provide solutions
- Excellent level of written and spoken English and Mathematical skills
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise own workload
- The ability to work within a team environment
- To act with integrity, keep promises and demonstrate fairness and impartiality
