We are looking for compassionate, reliable carers to support a 25-year-old gentleman living independently in Islington. This package consists of a live-in carer alongside 12-hour daytime and night support , providing a combination of complex care and daily living assistance.
The ideal candidates will have experience supporting individuals with complex physical needs, including moving and handling , pressure area care, and responding to significant muscle spasms, which can occasionally require two carers to assist safely. Maintaining correct positioning in his wheelchair is extremely important and requires a high level of attention and skill.
Please note this client is a smoker, carers will have to be comfortable being in an environment with a smoking client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and support with daily living activities
- Assisting with mobility, positioning, and transfers
- Supporting tracheostomy care and respiratory needs
- Monitoring and assisting with BiPAP therapy as required
- Communicating effectively using non-verbal methods
- Working closely with the family and healthcare professionals
