A leading London Market insurance business is seeking a Project Accountant to join its finance transformation team on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an accountant with insurance or reinsurance experience to support the delivery of new finance systems, data capabilities and improved accounting processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the definition and documentation of accounting, reporting and control requirements.
  • Analyse, map and reconcile financial data across source systems and the General Ledger.
  • Prepare and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), investigate defects and support retesting.
  • Validate insurance accounting transactions, including premiums, claims, reserves and commissions.
  • Document processes, reconciliations and controls, supporting governance and audit readiness.
  • Work closely with Finance, Change, IT, Data and third-party delivery teams through implementation and transition into BAU.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Practical insurance or reinsurance accounting experience is essential, ideally within the London Market.
  • Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills, including reconciliation and validation.
  • Experience of financial systems, accounting controls and data flows.
  • Previous exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation, data migration or UAT.
  • A methodical, collaborative approach with strong attention to detail.
