I am currently partnered with a leading Motor Insurer who are seeking an Underwriter to join their growing HNW/Bespoke team. This role will be Underwriting HNW/Prestige Motor business from the UK, including Luxury vehicles with some key HNW clients. This will be dealing with new and existing business.
My client is looking for someone with 2/3+ years in the Motor space, and are very open to an Assistant Underwriter or Broker who is keen to move into an Underwriting role. HNW experience is preferred but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Portfolio Performance: Contributing to portfolio performance management through analysis of results, supporting pricing and risk selection strategies, and making recommendations to drive continuous improvement and achieve financial targets.
- Team Collaboration & Support: Working closely with performance analysts, providing guidance and support where appropriate, and leveraging team capabilities to deliver strategic objectives.
- Underwriting Input: Contributing to the development of underwriting appetite based on market insights, identifying opportunities to enhance portfolio performance.
- Culture & Leadership: Supporting leadership in fostering a high-performance culture by demonstrating strong role-model behaviours and professionalism.
- Training & Development: Collaborating with leadership and training teams to identify development needs, and supporting team capability through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
- Quality Assurance: Maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and quality, aiming to deliver right-first-time outcomes in line with agreed standards.
- Fraud Awareness: Acting as a first line of defence by identifying and escalating potential fraud in accordance with internal policies and required timeframes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining a strong understanding of and adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, guidelines, and internal procedures.
- Complaints Handling: Managing complaints in line with established processes, seeking early resolution where possible and escalating appropriately when required.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively pursuing learning and development opportunities to enhance individual and team performance.
- Performance Delivery: Meeting individual performance targets while collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve shared business objectives and key metrics.
