HFG are currently partnering with a London market re-insurer in search for their next Syndicate Reporting Manager. This role is part of the Syndicate Finance team and is responsible for the timely and accurate close of the accounting ledgers, along with the preparation and submission of regulatory returns for the Syndicates. Working closely with the Syndicate Controller, proactive interaction with other functions across all financial reporting matters to ensure all reporting deliverables are met within the deadlines set.
Responsibilities
- Complete all aspects of the quarterly close process and present the ledgers in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Responsible for review of all Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.
- Responsible for the preparation and management of the quarter end close timetable.
- Responsible for the preparation and delivery of financial analysis and performance as required by group.
- Develop and enhance the existing controlled accounting environment around ledger population and regulatory reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure regulatory submissions are signed and submitted to the regulatory bodies within the desired timelines.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) or qualified by experience.
- Experience within the insurance market for 7+ years, preferably in the Lloyd's Market.
- Experience in the completion of Lloyd's regulatory returns.
- Experience in the production of UK GAAP Financial statements, preferable in the Lloyd's Market.
- Experience in the close process of a multi-currency ledger structure (Preferable Sun).
- Sound understanding of current insurance industry standards and external statutory and regulatory reporting requirements on both GAAP and Solvency.
