Main Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of claims across Professional, Financial, and Cyber classes of business.
- Upon receipt of a claim notification, assess risk exposure and coverage by reviewing policy wordings, acknowledge receipt to the client or intermediary, and establish and maintain accurate and timely claims files and internal records.
- Prepare, present, and communicate claims information to insurers and clients in written and electronic formats, responding promptly to all resulting instructions, queries, and enquiries.
- Monitor insurer agreement, settlement, and payment of claims, ensuring funds are paid accurately and to the correct beneficiary.
- Escalate any claims-related issues or concerns to management without delay.
- Ensure clear and timely communication of insurer instructions to clients and experts, and vice versa.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, insurers, and external experts through professional, responsive, and courteous engagement.
- Liaise effectively with placing colleagues, including producing and maintaining claims statistics and Claims Renewal Reports for renewal and related purposes.
- Work closely with accounting colleagues regarding the collection and payment of funds, resolution of queries, and clearance of accounting entries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market developments, policy wordings, and internal systems.
- Monitor workload levels and provide updates to management as required.
- Attend internal and external meetings when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience primarily handling Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, or D&O claims.
- 3-5 years' experience within a broker, insurer, law firm, or loss adjusting environment handling Professional lines claims.
- A solid understanding of the Lloyd's/London Market.
