I'm currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading international insurance business in London.
This is a key role within the finance function, with responsibility for technical accounting, financial controls and month-end reporting, alongside the management of a small team.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results process.
- Managing and developing a small team of accountants.
- Ownership of technical accounting month-end, including premiums, claims, acquisition costs, case reserves and IBNR.
- Oversight of technical GL reconciliations, controls and data quality.
- Ensuring accurate underwriting allocations across line of business, accident year, year of account, statutory class and currency.
- Reconciliation across core financial systems and resolution of data issues.
- Supporting audit requirements and working closely with FP&A, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Regulatory Reporting.
- Driving improvements to month-end processes, controls and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this finance manager role, you'll have to have the following experience:
- Strong insurance accounting experience.
- Proven experience owning or leading an insurance month-end
- US GAAP knowledge, preferably within insurance.
- Previous people management or team leadership experience.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
