I am partnering with a leading Lloyd's Syndicate that is looking to appoint an experienced Underwriting Manager to join its expanding team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will play a key part in driving delivery across the team's core pillars: Performance Management, Governance & Controls, and Insights & Analytics.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in underwriting controls, governance, and performance management within a Lloyd's environment, and will be confident working with Power BI and Excel.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation and submission of all internal and external reports, ensuring regulatory returns are accurate, complete, and delivered within required deadlines.
- Maintain and enhance underwriting policies and control frameworks, proactively addressing regulatory developments and emerging risks to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Lead the year-end audit process, working closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to resolve queries efficiently and on time.
- Manage, coach, and develop analysts within the Underwriting Management team, providing effective leadership, oversight, and support.
- Drive continuous improvement across underwriting processes and contribute to broader initiatives to strengthen underwriting capability and improve reporting quality.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required to support the effective delivery of the role.
- Act with integrity at all times.
- Exercise due care, skill, and diligence in the performance of duties.
- Maintain open and cooperative relationships with the FCA, PRA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Pay due regard to customer interests and ensure fair treatment of customers.
