New Vacancy – Quality Audit Underwriter

I am currently partnered with a leading Life Insurer who are seeking a Quality Audit Underwriter to join their growing team.

This role will focus on underwriting Life, CI and IP, whilst . Your primary responsibility will be to lead and deliver a robust audit programme focused on manually underwritten policies. My client is looking for an experienced Underwriter in these lines of business in the UK, as well as a solid understanding of underwriting quality assurance principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an underwriting audit programme focused on manually underwritten policies, ensuring decision accuracy and adherence to process standards.
  • Document audit results clearly, consistently, and accurately.
  • Analyse audit data to identify trends, uncover improvement opportunities, and promote best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting teams to deliver constructive feedback and support continuous improvement in underwriting quality and consistency.
  • Work with the Automated Underwriting Team to suggest refinements to question sets and overall underwriting philosophy.
  • Assess and recommend enhancements to data collection processes to enable effective audits and actionable data insights.
  • Contribute to monthly quality assurance (QA) moderation sessions to review and align error classification standards.
  • Stay informed on underwriting philosophy, systems, reinsurance guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Assist with retrospective underwriting reviews for claims as needed.
  • Take part in post-issue sampling initiatives.
  • Represent the team in reinsurance discussions and industry events.
