The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 € per year.
This role will take a lead on projects and initiatives to develop and enhance financial systems and processes. The role acts as the finance custodian for the financial systems which underpin the monthly financial close process. This includes raising tickets for system performance, interrogation of systemic accounting data, and the testing and implementation of system updates. They will work closely with IT and the system supplier, as well as Reserving Actuaries, FP&A, Reinsurance, and other Finance functions.
The following are must-have requirements:
- Posting journals / preparing accounts for technical insurance balances: GWP, CWP, UPR, DAC, claims (paid, case, IBNR), plus ideally reinsurance premium and recovery balances.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills digging deep into these balances in the ledger, sub-ledger and source systems to understand and analyse variances right down to individual policy, treaty and claims level; working collaboratively with actuaries, reinsurance and IT to resolve data queries.
- Experience of performing detailed technical reconciliations between systems and datasets in respect of these technical insurance balances.
- Detailed involvement and leadership in systems projects, implementations and transformations involving ledger and financial data, with hands-on experience of design requirements, UAT and audit trail.
Other skills we are looking for:
- Technical understanding with the front-end and back-end (ideally SQL) of systems.
- Top notch advanced Excel skills, and ideally experience with data flow tools like Alteryx and PowerBI.
- Ideally experience of external audit, be it that they came up through practice or they have dealt with external audit queries.
Personality-wise, we need someone with a positive, can-do attitude who will enthusiastically volunteer to get stuck into solving conundrums and getting their hands dirty with data, and will proactively push system and process improvements.
