Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of claims on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all related activities and tasks are handled efficiently.
- Assess coverage, liability, and damages to determine the level of exposure for both the insured and the company.
- Oversee and closely monitor instructions provided to external experts and defence counsel.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while developing and maintaining strong relationships with insureds, brokers, and business partners.
- Communicate coverage decisions and positions clearly and professionally to insureds.
- Establish and manage claim reserves within delegated authority limits.
- Prepare reports and provide updates to reinsurers and other insurance stakeholders.
- Assist business leaders with claims-related and underwriting matters as required.
- Attend mediations, settlement discussions, and court proceedings when necessary.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 4–6 years’ experience as a Claims Adjuster within the London Market, with a focus on Professional Indemnity and/or Financial Institutions claim.
- Strong understanding of industry best practices, claims management processes, and systems, including EC.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships, particularly in challenging or high-pressure situations.
- Capable of working independently and managing competing priorities effectively.
- Experience working within the Lloyd’s market and/or Lloyd’s certifications would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers and business partners.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with experience evaluating complex issues and reaching sound conclusions promptly.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to contribute across a variety of tasks in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- Educated to at least A-Level standard or equivalent.
