This role will be underwriting Property Facultative business from a range of industries including personal lines, power, engineering, UK commercial, real estate, global property, wholesale property, construction, oil and gas, renewables, etc. If the business comes in from London, they can write business anywhere in the world.
Jurisdictions are global, but currently, about 70% of the business is UK-based. You will have authority to underwrite from the start, depending on your level.
The role will involve a mix of new and existing business, with strong relationships with clients, so you may be allocated some accounts. You will deal with all types of business, including syndicates, UK composite insurers, and smaller regional companies.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in the office. Candidates with a broking background are also welcome, but an underwriting background is preferred. If you have a broking background, some form of underwriting experience is ideally required.
