Overall Role
- To ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent handling, reserving, and settlement of International Casualty claims across the company’s Lloyd’s and London Market platforms.
- To embed the principles of Treating Customers Fairly and Conduct Risk within the business.
- To maintain awareness of Data Protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies
- Deliver prompt, accurate, and consistent adjustment, reserving, and settlement of International Casualty claims across the company’s Lloyd’s and London Market platforms.
- Agree valid claims for payment in a timely manner.
- Develop, review, and implement strategies to accelerate the settlement of valid claims.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate coverage issues where necessary.
- Set and adjust reserves in line with coverage, liability, and quantum considerations in accordance with company claims guidelines.
- Ensure all reserves and claims data are accurately maintained on the claims system at all times.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Delegated Authority and Claims Hub, to ensure valid claims progress efficiently toward settlement.
- Manage relationships with external specialists, including legal experts in relevant jurisdictions.
- Review and address stagnant claims and reserves.
- Effectively use diary systems to manage key actions, recoveries, and other claims-related activities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external delegated claims handlers.
- Stay informed on market developments and legal updates relevant to the International Casualty class.
