The Opportunity
Alide Hire Services is a family-feel business that's been going strong for over 40 years. They supply powered access, tools, plant and welfare equipment across the South West from their three depots in Bristol, Bath and Keynsham. The current Credit Controller has been promoted internally, and they need someone to step into this important role. This isn't just about chasing invoices. - Managing a portfolio of customer accounts from first invoice to final payment.
- Chasing outstanding payments by phone and email.
- Processing payments - BACS, card, cheques.
- Sorting out invoice queries and disputes quickly.
- Assessing credit applications and recommending limits.
- Working with the depot teams and sales when accounts need to go on hold.
- Making sure training courses get paid for before they happen.
- Keeping proper records so nothing falls through the cracks.

You've done credit control before - ideally in hire, construction, or trade. You know how to have those firm-but-fair conversations without burning bridges. You're the kind of person who:
- Actually enjoys picking up the phone.
- Stays calm when a customer gets difficult.
- Spots problems before they become disasters.
- Keeps on top of your workload without someone chasing you.
- Knows your way around Excel and isn’t afraid of a CRM system.
What's In It For You
- A company that's been around for 40+ years.
- A team that actually works together.
- The person before you got promoted - they develop their people.
- Based in Keynsham - easy access from Bath, Bristol, and surrounding areas.
- Award-winning business with a genuine reputation for quality.
