Our Motor team are growing, and we are seeking experienced Paralegals/Litigation Executives to join our Salford Media City Office to support our amazing growth journey!
What will you be doing?
This is a great opportunity for a Litigation Executive who is looking to build upon their experience, as you will be running a litigated caseload of small claims matters dealing with liability and vehicle damage claims. You will assist other Litigation Executive/Claims Handlers as and when required with an average case load of 100 files, so having previous litigation experience dealing with claim handling a litigated caseload is preferable and a defendant case load is highly desired.
Some of the responsibilities you will be required to carry out are:
- Drafting documents, applications, offers, orders and directions
- Attending telephone conferences
- Managing cases in line with SLAs
- Reviewing quantum, valuing general and special damages
- Formalising case plans
- Entering into telephone negotiations
- Liaising with third party solicitors and insurers, own insurer clients and lay clients
The Motor volume area is a fast paced, high-volume department dealing with a range of cases. You will be working alongside a friendly and approachable department who will share their skillset and knowledge to help you succeed in the role leading to a number of opportunities for progression. This role would be a great opportunity for someone with an enthusiastic and positive attitude to be a part of a great team and a firm with exciting times ahead.
What do I need?
You will have experience in handling litigated claims, preferably with a focus on defendant cases. Familiarity with the CPR and the SRA Code of Conduct, along with their practical application and knowledge of motor insurance would be a huge plus. You will need to bring an enthusiastic and self‑motivated attitude with a desire to achieve and exceed targets combined with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. The ability to demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving is desirable. We would like to see a strong work ethic and a committed team player. We are a close knit and stable team that like to share ideas and experience with a view to achieving the best results that we can for our clients.
Progression
As a firm we are fully committed to nurturing and growing talent, and part of that is recognising the results of an individual’s work and rewarding high performance. Progression isn’t just limited to qualification. Many people within the Motor department have had the opportunity to be promoted into management and operational positions and/or develop as technical specialists. We have several routes on progression, from training contracts, graduate legal apprenticeships and pathways in becoming a team leader. All our training contracts are offered internally, and the firm offered a total of 28 training contracts in 2021/2022, a proportion of those are within the Motor and Casualty department. Above all the firm values potential; if you are inquisitive, hardworking and passionate about achieving great results, HF is a great place to develop your career.
