Overview: Learning and Development Advisor (Known internally as People Development Advisor) – Salford, Media City. Hybrid – around 2 days per week. Permanent.

Within this role, you will partner with the business to ensure our people have the skills, tools, and support they need to perform effectively. This role sits within the People Development team and focuses on onboarding new starters, supporting career development, and contributing to the delivery of Emerging Talent programmes. This role will assist the People Development Business Partner to design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, engaging, and impactful training initiatives, while working collaboratively with the wider People team to support the successful delivery of People Projects.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver the HF induction programme alongside other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for our new starters, making sure they have the right tools to succeed, embedding our culture and values, and providing our people with the platform they need to thrive in their roles.
  • Work with Line Managers and other stakeholders to help them onboard new starters into their teams effectively.
  • Assist in the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning interventions and initiatives across the firm aimed at increasing capability and productivity, ensuring that each programme adds value.
  • Deliver and improve programmes using a mix of in-person and online sessions to suit different learning styles.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers, helping them solve people-related challenges with practical solutions.
  • Manage key elements of our Emerging Talent programmes, including assisting in the delivery of training, arranging collaborative developmental events, and creating a positive and supportive framework for growth.
  • Maintain and update the Learning Management System so content is easy to access and useful.
  • Use feedback and data to improve development activities and demonstrate impact.
  • Understand the company’s promotion process and support employees in planning their career paths, helping them grow and succeed.
  • Work closely with the People team to adapt to changing priorities, including emerging talent programmes, learning management systems, promotions, events, inductions, and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate across the People team to support wider projects and priorities.
  • Contribute to team meetings and share ideas that improve how we support the business.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning solutions that meet business needs.
  • Previous experience of using a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • A team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a passion for lifelong learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor for the audience.
  • Comfortable using data to improve processes and demonstrate impact.
  • Organised and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to working across teams.
  • Ability to instil trust and build positive relationships quickly.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in what is being delivered.
  • Confident using digital tools and systems (including LMS and Office 365).
