Our Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) Team is growing quickly and supports a wide range of insurer clients, policyholders, and commercial organisations. The team handles an interesting and varied caseload spanning contractual disputes, consumer issues, property matters, construction-related claims (including adjudication and arbitration), and employment disputes. Known for its collaborative approach, technical expertise, and client service, the LEI team offers a supportive environment focused on development, quality, and commercial awareness.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a varied caseload of both litigated and pre‑litigation matters appropriate to your PQE
- Assisting with a wide range of insurance-funded disputes and advisory work
- Drafting clear and concise pleadings, correspondence, and legal advice
- Undertaking policy coverage assessments and supporting senior lawyers with complex cases
- Maintaining strong relationships with insurer clients, brokers, and policyholders
- Providing commercially sound legal advice under supervision
- Managing client updates, responding promptly to queries, and ensuring excellent client service
- Supporting senior colleagues on research tasks, projects, and high‑value matters
- Assisting with the preparation of legal updates, client training, and team marketing initiatives
- Contributing ideas for improving client service and enhancing the LEI offering
- Meeting financial and performance targets appropriate to your experience
- Ensuring compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, practice management standards, and data protection requirements
What do I need?
- A qualified Solicitor (0–4 years’ PQE)
- Experience in insurance and/or property damage litigation
- Strong academic background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Confident working independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to learn, develop, and build technical expertise
- Critical thinker with the ability to challenge and analyse information
- Professional, client‑focused approach
