About the Role

  • Position: Associate/Senior Associate solicitor
  • Location: Liverpool

We are currently looking for an experienced Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate who will be working on a caseload of mainly litigated RTA claims on behalf of major motor insurers, mainly with a value of between £50,000 and £500,000, and assessing liability and quantum throughout. You will be working in a team of highly experienced professionals in an engaging and driven environment. This will be a challenging yet rewarding role, as not only do we promote strong relationships and results for our clients, but we also promote strong working relationships within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a caseload of mainly litigated RTA claims on behalf of major motor insurers, with a value of between £50,000 and £500,000
  • Manage timetables
  • Prepare and review evidence
  • Deal with extensive disclosure
  • Advise clients on tactics and review evidence
  • Prepare court documents
  • Attend conferences with experts, clients and counsel
  • Attend court and telephone hearings and represent the client at hearings where appropriate
  • Interview witnesses to obtain witness statements
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, ensuring deadlines and SLA’s are met
  • Collect and update accurate MI
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct while achieving agreed financial, operational and other performance targets
  • Act as a knowledge hub supporting the production of technical material and training, exhibiting high technical competence within your department

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor
  • Experience in conducting a caseload of claims with a value up to £500k
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent communicator, able to build relationships
  • Clear and concise advice provider
  • Willingness to learn new skills and acquire technical expertise
  • Team player, works well under supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to question and challenge information and evidence put forward by parties and their representatives in a case
  • Commercial awareness of legal issues
  • Flexible with a positive attitude to change, both internally and in the context of clients’ business
