We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal / Litigation Executive to work within the Catastrophic and Complex Injury department (CCI) in our Liverpool office.

The role will primarily involve handling large loss claims arising from road traffic accidents.
Your main role will be to handle a caseload of RTA claims with damages valued between £50,000 and £250,000.
You may also be required to assist senior lawyers in the team on higher value claims.
You will be working as part of a team of experienced professionals in an engaging and driven environment.
This will be a stimulating and rewarding role as not only do we promote strong relationships and results for our clients, we also promote strong working relationships within the team.
- The Main Responsibilities
- To conduct a case load of mainly litigated RTA claims on behalf of major motor insurers, with a value of between £50,000 and £250,000
- Managing and complying with court timetables
- Preparing/reviewing evidence
- Dealing with extensive disclosure
- Advising clients on tactics and reserves
- Drafting court documents
- Attending conferences with experts/clients/counsel
- Attending court/telephone hearings and representing the client at hearings where appropriate
- Interviewing witnesses to obtain witness statements
- Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, ensuring deadlines and SLA’s are met
- To collect and update accurate MI
- Maintaining high standards of professional conduct while achieving agreed financial, operational and other performance targets
- Exhibit and promote a high level of technical competence
- Other Responsibilities
- In addition, the job holder is required to perform other responsibilities assigned by the management as and when required which are not exhaustive.
- You Will
- Have relevant experience of conducting a caseload of mainly litigated large loss RTA claims.
- Have strong organisational skills and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Be a good communicator and enjoy building relationships
- Be able to provide clear and concise advice
- Wish to learn new skills and acquire technical expertise
- Work well in a team and under supervision
- Excellent attention to detail, negotiation and analytical skills
- Not be afraid to question and challenge information and evidence put forward by the parties (and their representatives) in a case
- Have a commercial awareness to legal issues
- Be flexible with a positive attitude to change, both internally and in the context of clients' business
