About the Role
We are one of the largest, most highly skilled Catastrophic & Complex Injury teams in the market, with a growing portfolio of more than ÂŁ10m fee income. The team numbers over 70 lawyers across eight offices, four jurisdictions, with many leading names in the market and over 600 years of experience in large loss between us! All of which makes sure we are making the right decisions for our clients. We handle cases with cumulative reserves of over ÂŁ1bn and our top tier partners all have experience of handling claims with pleaded values of ÂŁ20m+.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with colleagues on the day‑to‑day management of case files, including reviewing evidence, drafting correspondence, and preparing court documents.
- Maintain excellent file‑management practices, ensuring cases are handled in line with client service standards.
- Take initiative and demonstrate strong self‑management skills to deliver high‑quality work.
- Organise and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and court timetables, ensuring all dates are accurately diarised.
- Prepare and review evidence, advise on case tactics (under supervision), and draft court documentation.
- Attend conferences with clients, experts and counsel, as well as court and telephone hearings where appropriate.
- Interview witnesses and experts to obtain statements and instruct experts/counsel, occasionally attending trials.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring deadlines and service level agreements are met.
- Keep all case correspondence and communication up to date, and collect/update management information (MI).
- Stay informed on relevant case law and legislation, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.
- Adhere to firm‑wide practices and procedures, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

- Strong background in personal injury law
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Sharp analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Indemnity experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain strong client relationships
- Knowledge of the insurance market (desirable)
- Previous defendant‑side experience (desirable)
