Solicitor / Associate β Inquests & Inquiries
Organisation: HF (Hempsons) β a leading legal practice in health, social care and charities.
Location: Leeds, England, United Kingdom β Hybrid work (office once or twice a month).
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified solicitor or barrister.
- 2-6 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Experience in coronial law or a related practice area.
- Advocacy experience, especially in complex multi-agency inquests.
- Strong interest in healthcare law and experience advising health and social care clients is highly desirable.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Manage a caseload of inquests and related matters with appropriate supervision.
- Advise clients on acute healthcare, mental health, and specialist health and care services.
- Prepare and present complex legal submissions.
- Advocate in Article2 inquests, often with a jury.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, coroners, and other stakeholders.
- Support client relationship management and business development activities.
- Provide supervision and mentorship where appropriate.
- Maintain financial management, time recording and billing.
