The Horse and Farrier is a freehold 18th Century inn located in the beautiful village of Dacre, just 2 miles from Ullswater. The pub has a 35 seater restaurant with an additional bar area that can seat up to 20, and during spring and summer the beer garden opens - offering outdoor dining.
The Horse and Farrier concentrates on home made, top quality pub food using seasonal, fresh and where possible local produce. We are seeking an experienced chef to join our team (at least one years experience in a kitchen).
The role would include working alongside our small kitchen team working the larder and pastry sections of the kitchen, plating starters and desserts, working and aiding other chefs on the pass - ensuring all dishes are sent out at a high standard whilst maintaining current food legislation and safer food better business practices.
Menu's change on a seasonal basis and include a range of pub classics and farm house foods - from homemade burgers and pies, sausage rolls and terrines to fresh fish dishes. Alongside our main menu we run a daily specials board and a selection of sandwiches at lunch time.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for food and cooking, stays calm under pressure and also works well alongside our kitchen team as well as front of house.
