Lab Technician Permanent role – continental shift pattern with generous time off **Must be able to work night shifts as part of the pattern*** On-site role We are seeking a motivated and qualified Lab Technician within our client\’s chemical and food manufacturing facilities in Hull. You will be working for an expanding global business with a friendly team of professionals. Responsibilities will include: * Assuming responsibility for safety of self and others whilst at work, ensuring all requirements as laid down in the company\’s policy are implemented to fulfil legislative requirements * Performing a range of Analytical and Microbiological analysis on Finished Product and In Process samples * Interpreting results and instigating appropriate action, including out of spec reports * Calibrating analytical equipment as required * Carrying out quality control and housekeeping inspections and advising supervisor or relevant Managers of any issues arising from such * Analysis and plant monitoring * Ensuring all standards and requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 quality system pertaining to the Laboratory are adhered to * Collating fermentation quality and process information reports The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 6 months relevant lab experience in a commercial setting in a microbiology or chemistry lab. Ideal industry experience: food, chemicals, petro-chemicals A biotechnology, microbiology or food science degree is ideal but not essential.
