Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of Heytea’s food safety system in the UK, ensuring alignment with both brand standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the localised food safety framework.
  • Oversee and manage food safety across all local stores, drive performance improvements in food safety KPIs, and ensure targets are achieved.
  • Manage food safety across the full store lifecycle, including layout and design reviews, pre-opening inspections, staff training, ongoing supervision, audits, and project execution.
  • Provide food safety calibration, training, and support to cross-functional departments such as operations, store supervision, and engineering.
  • Take ownership of local food safety incidents, including customer complaints, government inspections, and regulatory sampling tests. Ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Oversee local pest control management and ensure pest control services meet company standards, aiming to reduce pest-related non-compliances.
  • Monitor and interpret updates to local food safety laws and regulations. Provide risk warnings and ensure regulatory compliance across the business.
  • Support ad-hoc food safety-related initiatives and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety management within the chain restaurant or food retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK food safety laws, HACCP, and relevant industry standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver effective training.
  • Highly self-motivated, with strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is required due to cross-border communication and training needs.
