In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure services across Group IT, delivering and supporting secure, resilient Azure and hybrid cloud solutions that align with business needs. You will act as a hands-on technical specialist, responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving infrastructure throughout its full lifecycle, ensuring high levels of performance, stability, and service availability.

You will play a key role in the design, implementation and optimisation of Azure infrastructure, ensuring cloud services are secure, scalable, cost-effective and aligned with best practice. You will contribute to Azure governance, security and operational excellence through the adoption of Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, and proactive service improvement initiatives.

With a strong focus on Azure cloud platforms, you will contribute to the development and evolution of the organisation's cloud strategy, using your operational and project delivery experience to help shape future direction. You will also serve as a 4th Line escalation point, providing expert technical support for complex issues, driving root cause analysis, and implementing long-term improvements that enhance service reliability and efficiency.

What you'll bring

You will have extensive experience operating at a senior technical level within complex IT environments, with a strong track record of delivering cloud and infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You will bring deep expertise across Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, networking, identity, and hybrid cloud platforms, enabling you to design and support scalable, resilient, and business-aligned solutions.

You will have experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as PowerShell, Azure Automation, Terraform or Bicep, enabling the delivery of consistent, scalable, and supportable infrastructure solutions. You will be confident managing live service environments, resolving escalated incidents through root cause analysis, and working closely with third-party suppliers. A strong understanding of change management, governance, risk, and service stability is essential, alongside the ability to integrate technologies into effective end-to-end solutions. Cloud experience is essential, and you will be a project-driven engineer with a proactive and delivery-focused approach.
