Your Role

As a Multiskilled Technician, you will help to support the Container Division Engineering team at the Port of Liverpool by ensuring day-to-day maintenance functions operate safely and efficiently, providing operational areas and the port estate an on-time service.

You will carry out Planned Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks, as delegated by the Container Division Engineering Shift Managers (ESMs), Step Up Technicians and Crane Lead Engineers, in an effective and safe manner for all Gantry Cranes (STS and CRMGs) and associated equipment, across the at the Port. The Maintenance tasks which you will cover will be of both an Electrical and Mechanical nature. All electrical work is required to meet Peel Ports Electrical Safety Rules.

The position is based on a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift pattern.

What you'll bring

You will be qualified to a minimum HNC (or equivalent) level in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, as well as:

  • Previous experience working on PLC’s, motors/controls, variable speed drives, as well as electrical installation works, maintenance repair and replacement of electrical infrastructure.
  • Fault finding and repair experience, with an understanding of permit to work systems and accident reporting.
  • Knowledge of effective maintenance strategies i.e. RCM, PM, CBM and TPM.
  • You will be willing and able to work at heights, confined spaces and in dirty/dusty environments.
