We are searching for a commercial forward-thinking Finance Transformation Lead to join a 150-person Finance company during a period of high growth. The Finance Transformation Lead will be responsible for transforming the finance function from a traditional management accounts team into a commercially driven, insight-led partner to the business by leveraging automation, data, and AI to improve decision-making, scalability, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Finance Process Transformation and Automation
- End-to-end review of finance processes
- Identify manual, repetitive, and error-prone activities and design automated workflows
- Implement straight-through processing where possible
- Reduce month-end close timelines and increase accuracy as a result
- Design scalable processes that support business growth
- Management Accounts Automation and Reporting
- Delivery of management accounts
- Automate production of management accounts with minimal manual intervention
- Standardise KPIs across revenue, margin, client profitability, and sales performance
- Build dynamic reporting packs that allow stakeholders to self-serve
- Reduce reliance on Excel-heavy workflows
- Ensure consistency between statutory, management, and commercial reporting
- Business Intelligence and Power BI Ownership
- Drive integration between Xero, CRM systems, Power BI through collaboration with the IT Team
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards for revenue growth, client profitability, sales performance and conversion, FX exposure and margin analysis and cost efficiency and operating leverage
- Move reporting from “what happened” to “why it happened”, what might happen next and what action should be taken
- Embed insights directly into business rhythms (sales meetings, leadership reviews, forecasting)
- AI Enablement and Innovation in Finance
- Act as the internal Subject Matter Expert on AI applications in finance
- Build business cases for AI investment and lead implementation
- Educate the wider finance team on AI adoption and best practice
- Finance Team Enablement and Culture Change
- Upskill the finance team in data, automation, and insight-led thinking
- Reduce time spent on low-value tasks so the team can focus on analysis
- Create documentation and best practices for new systems and tools
- Influence mindset shift from “producing numbers” to “driving outcomes”
Experience:
- 3+ years proven experience in a Finance Transformation/Lead position preferably in financial services or start-up environment
- Big 4 experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
- Excellent knowledge of AI/automating a finance function
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using Business Information systems such as Qlikview or PowerBI
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
