We are heycar. Since August 2019, we’ve been making it easier for customers to find the right vehicle, and for automotive retailers to sell them. More recently, we’ve been on a journey… In June 2025 we were acquired by Volkswagen Financial Services UK (VWFS UK) and our mission is simple: build the right tech solutions for Volkswagen Group UK and its retailers, so they can deliver the best possible experiences to their customers. We’re a mix of problem-solvers, innovators, and team players who care about doing great work and making a difference. We thrive on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence. We deliver impactful solutions at pace that put the customer at the centre.

About the role:

We're looking for a Product Manager to join our team for the year and help revolutionise automotive experiences. As part of the Product Team you'll be working across two distinct but connected audiences. Focusing across both B2B and B2C means you'll tackle diverse product challenges, from consumer-facing discovery journeys to internal retailer tools, all while working collaboratively with design, engineering, and stakeholders across the business. You'll contribute to the entire product lifecycle - from strategic planning and user story creation to backlog management and feature delivery that makes a real difference. As you grow with us, you'll have the opportunity to own your dedicated product area and drive initiatives that impact hundreds of thousands of users. If you thrive on variety, love solving complex problems, and want to leave your mark on an innovative industry, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What you’ll do:

  • Work as part of cross-functional squads, contributing to specific product areas while learning from experienced Product Managers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across product, design and engineering to help define and deliver roadmaps that serve both B2B and B2C users.
  • Responsible for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and A/B Testing.
  • Cross-Product Marketing - The ability to promote other services i.e. insurance, warranties, service plans.
  • Contribute to the Marketing Funnel Strategy of our business.
  • Work alongside both internal and external industry experts to identify pain points and develop solutions that address real market needs.
  • Build with the end customer foremost in mind, translating our overall product vision into detailed user stories and product requirements.
  • Support feature delivery and use analytics to gather feedback, helping iterate and improve our products based on real user data.
  • Take ownership of product areas, become the go‑to person for specific features or domains.

What you’ll need:

  • Customer Focus: Deeply understand and advocate for the needs of both B2B and B2C users, with experience using engagement metrics to drive product decisions.
  • Automotive experience / interest: Knowledge with compliance and data privacy in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of Retention & Lifecycle Marketing (CRM) & Finance Lead Generation.
  • Communication: Present and articulate product concepts in a clear and focused way that drives productive discussion and compels work forward.
  • Experience: Experience as a Product Manager on agile teams, with a proven track record of translating product vision into actionable user stories and requirements.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams - coordinating with design and engineering, identifying dependencies, negotiating trade-offs, and ensuring high-quality solution delivery.
  • Flexibility: Able to work with ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment with an ideas‑led, consultative approach, and not afraid to push back when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders, understanding the importance of keeping key people well‑informed and aligned.
  • Attitude: Up for a challenge with a get‑it‑done approach. Comfortable making quick decisions and working in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Technical Understanding: You don't need to be a coder, but you should have experience working with engineering teams and translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Hybrid Working: Happy to come into the London office 1-2 times per week to collaborate with the team.

What we’ll give you:

  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary + performance based bonus.
  • Holidays: We want you to relax, you’ll have 28 days off (plus bank holidays) throughout the year. We also give you an extra day off to enjoy your birthday!
  • Benefits + Perks: With private medical insurance, learning and development opportunities and mental health support we’ll give you the extra boost.
  • Hybrid Working: We have a flexible working culture here at heycar. With hybrid working in our offices in Holborn (London) and working from home days.
  • Feedback: You'll be joining more than just another scale up - our team are at the heart of everything we do; here we don’t leave things unsaid, we encourage honest feedback.
  • A Challenge: Fast paced but not fraught. So we need you to keep up, push back and question where you see fit.
