Are you dependable, hands-on, and ready to play a key part in keeping our warehouse running smoothly? We’re looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our busy but close-knit team in Steeton. J Wood Leathers is a family run leather merchant based in Steeton, Keighley. We are a small, but dedicated team, committed to offering quality, sustainable hides and leathers to our customers, with unrivalled customer service. We pride ourselves on our reputation for quality, reliability, and teamwork — and we’re looking for someone who shares those values.
In this role, you’ll make sure orders are packed, processed, and dispatched efficiently, helping us deliver great service to customers across the UK and beyond.
What You’ll Do
- Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Book and label shipments using courier systems
- Assist with Goods-In – unloading deliveries, checking stock, and managing returns
- Keep stock records up to date and report low levels promptly
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workspace at all times
- Support your team and take pride in keeping everything running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
- Able to follow instructions and work well in a team
- Comfortable using basic computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, email)
- Experience using Sage 50 or similar stock/accounting software would be desirable
- Valid FLT licence (bendi/pivot steer) is an advantage but not essential
