At DENSO Marston Ltd in Shipley, West Yorkshire, we design and manufacture high-performance heat exchange units and cooling modules for leading OEMs across the off-highway construction, agricultural and engine power markets. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Production Engineering team with the appointment of a Manufacturing Production Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing processes, lead new product introduction activities and deliver projects that have a direct impact on productivity, quality and operational performance.

The Role
As a Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will be responsible for a designated manufacturing area, supporting both new and existing business through the development, optimisation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will lead new product introduction (NPI) activities, manage capital investment projects and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise, project management and problem-solving to deliver measurable improvements across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation and monitoring of new product and product variant introductions
- Ensure NPI activities are delivered on time, to quality standards and within budget using APQP methodologies
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, work methods and production equipment
- Define specifications and requirements for new manufacturing equipment
- Manage capital expenditure projects from concept through to implementation
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Purchasing and Design teams to deliver effective manufacturing solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles and PDCA methodologies
- Improve production capacity, output, quality and process capability
- Reduce scrap, rework and cycle times while improving OEE performance
- Support process quality assurance and process control activities
- Lead engineering and process changes in line with company procedures
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement both short and long-term corrective actions
- Participate in design reviews to support Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) activities
- Manage supplier relationships relating to manufacturing equipment and process development
- Develop and maintain process documentation including PFMEA, Control Plans and Operator Instructions
What We're Looking For
- Minimum two years' experience within Manufacturing or Production Engineering
- Background within Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing, FMCG or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of: APQP, PFMEA, Six Sigma methodologies, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing principles, Kanban and Pull Systems
- Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) project management
- Knowledge of manufacturing process design, workstation design and factory layouts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Degree qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
- Experience using CAD software, ideally AutoCAD
Desirable Experience
- Multi-skilled engineering knowledge including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Experience of complex manufacturing automation and capital equipment projects
- Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
