The Defence Training Specialist will act as a superuser for the defence application, providing embedded user support covering all aspects of the project from training and mentoring to providing first line support and some platform management functions. The user community will be their primary focus, conducting training sessions and proactively working with users to assist them achieve their objectives. The Training Specialist will receive a comprehensive training package on the application as well as ongoing mentoring and support; previous experience in this particular application is not essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of training material and courses to the users in an appropriate manner from classroom to one-on-one tuition.
  • Provide first line support for the application to the end users and offer liaison for higher levels of support, the development team and management.
  • Mentor the user’s knowledge of existing and new application features and guide them on how best to exploit the capabilities to enhance their product.
  • Capture user requirements for application enhancement and feed these back to the development team for assessment and where possible rapid deployment.
  • Work both as part of a team but also sometimes autonomously and be able to support some on-call working.

  • Training qualification such as Defence Trainer, Defence Trainer course, Defence Train the Trainer.
  • Experience of various instructional techniques.
  • Strong training background.
  • Ability to communicate complex material in a clear and concise manner to a range of user abilities.
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
