Hexcel is currently seeking a Technician for our Duxford, UK location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Laboratory duties including preparing and evaluating composite materials.
- Formulating and mixing resins and other chemicals, producing films and “prepreg” materials, curing laminates and performing a range of thermal analytical and mechanical tests.
- Participating in research or new product development projects.
- Planning the technical aspects of the work with guidance from their supervisor and providing technical observations, interpretation of results and executing experimental ideas based on technical inferences.
- Developing expertise and a level of background understanding on technically relevant methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Educated in a technical subject, preferably in chemistry.
- Preferably have practical experience of working in a laboratory. Practical experience in a chemical, polymer or materials science, process development or engineering environment would be an advantage.
- Keen eye for detail and practically minded.
- Able to demonstrate a proactive and methodical approach to work.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
