Hexcel is seeking a Technician for our Duxford, United Kingdom location.
Responsibilities
- Laboratory duties including preparing and evaluating composite materials.
- Formulating and mixings resins and other chemicals, producing films and "prepeg" materials, curing laminates and performing a range of thermal analytical and mechanical tests.
- Participating in research or new product development projects.
- Planning the technical aspects of the work with guidance from their supervisor and to provide technical observations, interpretation of results and to provide and execute experimental ideas based on technical inferences.
- Developing expertise and developing a level of background understanding on technically relevant methodologies.
Qualifications
- Educated in a technical subject, preferably in chemistry.
- Preferably have practical experience of working in a laboratory.
- Practical experience in a chemical, polymer or materials science, process development or engineering environment would be an advantage.
- Keen eye for detail and practically minded.
- Able to demonstrate a proactive and methodical approach to work.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
