Hexcel is currently seeking a Pilot Technician (Technician III) for our Leicester, UK location.
Responsibilities
- Part of a group of technicians and engineers dedicated to running trials on pilot equipment and supporting R&D development activity.
- Undertaking project(s), where appropriate, or provide technical or practical support in specific areas in order to improve the Company's products, processes, and technology.
- Perform trials on pilot equipment.
- Housekeeping and 5S of pilot production areas.
- Responsible for safe functioning of equipment and to identify risk within their own work and communicate this to their supervisor with recommendations for action.
- Occasionally, to support risk management investigations.
- Work in accordance with statutory local Health and Safety regulations and to communicate any HSE violation.
- Ensure all raw materials and consumables needed for trials are available.
- Responsible for storage of finished samples and products.
- Support with other team activities such as sample manufacture and engineering projects as required.
- Contribute in projects to upgrade existing pilot capacity and capability and to develop improvements to working methods.
- To supervise and train peers on practical work.
Qualifications
- To have expertise and develop a level of background understanding on pilot equipment and processes.
- Sound understanding of mechanical principles and direct experience of machine operation.
- Ideally work experience in the manufacture of Non-Crimp Fabric (NCF) or in similar converting processes.
- Ability to drive Fork Lift Truck and up to date license desirable.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
