We are currently seeking a R&D Industrial Placement Student for our Duxford, UK location.
Responsibilities:- Support data generation projects by hands‑on specimen preparation and mechanical testing, data analysis and failure mode investigations.
- Summarise and provide insights into the test data, and present to project colleagues of various functions and disciplines.
- Support new test method development or implementation, including introducing new equipment, technologies or automation algorithms to the laboratories.
- Document learnings and present to peers.
- Support continuous improvement activities to make existing processes or procedures safer and more streamlined and effective.
- Materials science, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering degree level education.
- Knowledge in composite materials.
- Practical experience or knowledge in mechanical testing.
- Experience in using advanced Excel features or coding.
- Reliable, aptitude to learn, hands‑on and proactive.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
