Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance, project, and process activities to improve safety and production efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Develop electrical and control system specifications for manufacturing equipment.
  • Create and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control documentation.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support site breakdowns and restore production in a timely manner.
  • Participate in technical support call-out rota to minimise downtime.
  • Propose and implement control system improvements across the site.
  • Plan and manage project timelines, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Communicate project progress effectively to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Background in electrical controls/instrumentation engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing or process environments.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g. Rockwell Logix 5000 & 500, RSView).
  • Understanding of safety systems (e.g. SIL, Safety PLCs).
  • Knowledge of industrial drives (e.g. Allen Bradley, ABB).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills (e.g. 4–20mA loops, controllers).
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methods (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA).
  • Understanding of ATEX, commissioning, and machine safety standards.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and basic CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, EPlan).
