Hexcel is currently seeking a Core Maintenance Leader for our Duxford, UK location. The selected individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Arrange and oversee planned maintenance planning, preparation, execution, and hand-back to production operations.
  • Control costs of annual maintenance spend.
  • Review daily status of owned assets and proactively prepare plans to prevent unplanned outages.
  • Ensure asset performance aligns with safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
  • Propose capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage spare part requirements, repairable items, and ensure stock levels match asset needs.
  • Collaborate with production and planning teams to minimize disruptions and maximize asset capacity.
  • Maintain quality of maintenance services to meet business needs.
  • Ensure asset documentation is updated and accessible for maintenance and facilities teams.
  • Lead root cause analysis into failures, following up on actions to completion and closure.

Qualifications include:

  • Recognized electrical engineering apprenticeship, degree, or equivalent; minimum BTEC HNC in Electrical Engineering.
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification.
  • DSEAR/ATEX awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Proficient in computer use and experience with CMMS systems.
  • Strong understanding of UK manufacturing legislation.

Desirable: COMPEX EX 1-4 (gas/vapours) and 5-6 (dust), CAD qualification, IOSH managing safely.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
