The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Provide comprehensive and efficient practical laboratory support to the European based material business of Hexcel, covering all aspects of products, processes and technical marketing communications.
  • Be the technical authority on a defined range of products, test procedures, production processes and composite part manufacturing methods.
  • Provide practical and technical support to the Aerospace Technical Support Manager and Technical Support Team on internal and external projects.
  • Provide direct technical guidance and practical laboratory support on materials, processing and testing techniques.
  • Provide practical technical support for the introduction and qualification of new materials and also current materials that are undergoing process or source change.
  • Provide comprehensive problem-solving support for materials, applications, processing and testing.
  • Generate specific user specifications and provide essential support to Product Management and R&T departments for the development of new products and applications.
  • Provide information on and prepare and maintain a fully comprehensive technical library, for composite materials, their processing and applications, in particular to support the creation of promotional and technical literature.
  • Take part in preparing and providing internal technical training and courses covering all Hexcel material groups, processes, applications and testing. Training is provided to Hexcel colleagues and customers as required.

Qualifications:

  • The jobholder will have a technical background in an engineering or science discipline and have appropriate experience with composite material production, applications and composite processing.
  • Six sigma and problem-solving techniques including statistical data analysis.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Hexcel product range and performances, plus experiences of applications.
  • Understanding of material applications and process parameters is essential.
  • Operate effectively and contribute to marketing and business objectives; it is essential for the jobholder to have a high level of team working, organization and communication skills.
  • They should also command the personal respect and confidence of colleagues and customers.
  • May need to occasionally travel and work with an international base of colleagues and customers.
  • Must support the company in presenting a good reliable image to customers.
  • They must relate to customer requirements and gain their confidence and respect for technical ability.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
