Job Summary
The Door Access Control Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of door access control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic security systems and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role will also include other installation work for the company, including but not limited to the installation of network infrastructure cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Cat6a etc.).
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain door access control systems, including hardware and software components.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of access control systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to access control systems, including hardware malfunctions and software errors.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all installations and maintenance activities.
- Provide training and support to clients on the use of access control systems.
- Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Travel locally or where required nationally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in installing and maintaining door access control systems.
- Strong knowledge of electronic security systems, including key card access, biometric systems, and intercom systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Verkada security systems is an advantage.
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence.
Salary & Benefits
£46,000 to £55,000 + paid overtime + company van + expenses + health benefits package + 25 & 8 bank holidays per annum.
