Hexagon Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a temp to perm opportunity based in Flintshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent role after 12 weeks with a well-established and growing business.

The Role

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for operating a range of vehicles including artic, skip, hook lift, and curtain sider units, completing scheduled collections of waste and recyclable materials across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving to planned collection points and emptying waste containers
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks in line with company procedures
  • Completing all required paperwork and updating onboard systems
  • Ensuring compliance with road transport laws, load safety, and company policies
  • Maintaining cleanliness of collection areas and managing any spillages
  • Operating vehicles safely and efficiently at all times
  • Supporting with additional duties as required by the Transport Manager

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Minimum 2 years’ driving experience
  • Valid CPC and Digi Tachograph card
  • Hooklift experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong understanding of driver compliance and safety standards

Hours & Pay

  • £15.35 per hour (starting rate)
  • 40 hours over 4 days (initially)
  • Potential to increase to 5 days / 50+ hours
  • Overtime paid at standard rate
  • OTE £32,000 – £48,000
