We are recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics company for a skilled Transport Planner to join their dynamic team based in Slough. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement of freight and cargo operations through effective planning, coordination, and management of land-based transport while adhering to strict safety and security regulations.

Key Responsibilities- Develop optimal transportation routes considering distance, time, cost, and mode of transport.
- Choose appropriate carriers and logistics providers based on capacity, reliability, cost, and service agreements.
- Coordinate multiple shipments into full truckloads or container loads to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Plan and schedule transportation movements, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
- Use tracking systems to monitor shipments in transit and communicate updates to carriers and customers.
- Ensure all transport documentation and reports are accurate and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential savings and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and effective communication.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and drive operational excellence.
- Provide guidance on transport operations, ensuring staff meet key objectives and follow best practices.

- Prior experience in transport planning and logistics operations is essential.
- Strong Air & Road Logistics knowledge, including freight, cargo handling, and transport regulations.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- ADR & Hazardous Awareness Training (Cargo Op / Level D) advantageous.
- Driving & Forklift Licence preferred (training available).
- Professional, front-facing presentation.
- Flexibility to work within a 24/7 operational environment (set shift pattern provided).
Successful candidates will be subject to background check (including criminal record check), 5-Year Employment History Verification, and Drug & Alcohol Testing.
