We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the haulage and container logistics sector, who is looking for an experienced HR Administrator to support their busy HR department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment where no two days are the same. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:30, and the role is fully office-based. Due to the location of the office, own transport is essential.

The HR Administrator will provide key support across all areas of HR, focusing on recruitment, compliance, record management, and health & safety. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and confident managing sensitive information while ensuring full compliance with logistics and transport industry regulations. A CIPD qualification and knowledge of Transport Health & Safety (HSE) would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across all HR functions.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts, disciplinary letters, memos and other HR documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including DBS checks and Right to Work documentation.
  • Assist with end-to-end recruitment, from job posting to interview scheduling and onboarding.
  • Support driver onboarding, including compliance with CPC, licences, and health & safety requirements.
  • Conduct inductions and ensure all new starters are equipped with the right tools and knowledge.
  • Ensure all employee records are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards (CPC, ADR, PPE etc.).
  • Monitor expiring documentation and coordinate timely renewals.
  • Liaise with legal/compliance teams when needed.
  • Support with routine health & safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and maintain safety-critical equipment (e.g., fire alarms, defibrillators).
  • Reinforce PPE compliance and assist with distribution of uniforms and safety gear.
  • Coordinate training for drivers and staff (including CPC and safety courses).
  • Keep detailed training records and ensure timely renewals.
  • Support the HR team in managing grievances, disciplinaries and day-to-day employee matters.
  • Track HR metrics such as absences, compliance status, and employee turnover.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Solid admin experience (HR or operations), ideally within logistics or haulage.
  • Strong IT and Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn systems and industry-specific platforms.
  • Knowledge of transport and logistics compliance (preferred but not essential).
